AI‑Driven Enhancements to Pinterest Boards

Pinterest announced experimental upgrades that embed artificial intelligence into its board experience. The first feature, “Styled for you,” generates collages that let users combine saved fashion pins into new outfit ideas. By tapping an item in the collage, users can swipe through AI‑recommended pins that match their style preferences.

The second experiment, “Boards made for you,” offers personalized boards created from a blend of editorial curation and AI‑generated recommendations. These boards showcase trending styles, weekly outfit inspiration, and shoppable content, appearing directly in users’ home feeds and inboxes.

Rollout and Objectives

The tests are currently limited to the United States and Canada, with broader availability expected in the coming months. Pinterest aims to evolve boards from simple organizational tools into a more dynamic, AI‑enabled shopping assistant, aligning with the company’s broader push to integrate AI across its platform.

Balancing AI Innovation with User Control

While expanding AI capabilities, Pinterest continues to give users tools to limit AI‑generated content. Earlier this year the company introduced labeling for AI‑generated images and controls that let users reduce the presence of such pins in their feed.

Alongside the AI experiments, Pinterest is adding new tabs that sort pins into categories, such as “Make It Yours” for fashion and home décor recommendations, “More Ideas” for related pins across categories like beauty and recipes, and “All Saves” for easy access to previously saved pins.
