The company, founded by Ben Sanders and Damian McCabe, aims to automate 911 calls and reduce wait times for emergency services. Sanders, who is CEO, said the product is designed to deal with non-emergency calls that take time away from critical calls.

According to Sanders, most calls made to the emergency line are not considered emergency calls at all. Hyper answers questions, texts links, forwards calls, and even takes non-emergency police reports. The company’s AI technology is trained on real 911 calls with local agencies and supports more languages.

Fundraising and Future Plans

Sanders described the fundraising process as “frenetic, manic, and fast.” The round was oversubscribed and included follow-on capital from investors such as Ripple Ventures, GreatPoint Ventures, and K5 Global. Hyper hopes to use the fresh capital to scale across the country, integrate more into existing 911 systems, hire a head of engineering, and build its next product.

Sanders said what makes Hyper different from competitors is its focus on 911. The company has already gone live with many centers, which is a big operational hurdle in government and public safety. Hyper’s goal is to take away some of the stress associated with being a 911 caller and perhaps even bring more people to the profession.
